How Our Booking Process Works:

Once you're registered in our database, here’s what happens next:

Receiving an Invitation: If a job aligns with your appearance, age, and other criteria, you’ll receive a work invitation via email. Most of these emails come from a “do not reply” address, so please be sure to carefully follow the instructions provided within the email.
Respond Quickly: Jobs are usually time-sensitive and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. For each role, we may invite up to five people, so responding quickly increases your chances of being booked. Please note that simply marking yourself as available does not guarantee the job. You are only officially booked once you receive a confirmation email.
Selection Process: While we aim to book you directly, some projects require casting to hand-select talent. If you’re not booked immediately, it could be because casting needs to send photos to the director or follow a more involved selection process.
Booking Confirmation: Once you’re booked, you’ll receive an email confirmation notifying you that you’ve been selected for the job.
Call Times and Details: Call times (also called job details) are usually sent the night before your shoot, between 9:00 PM and midnight. Be sure to check your email during this period. If you don’t receive your call time within this window, please reach out to us at orders@mltalent.com.
Confirming Your Call Time: Once you receive your call time, scroll down in the email and click the green confirmation button to finalize your details.
Arriving on Set: After confirming your details, proceed to the scheduled job on the specified day, time, and location.
Important Reminder: Background work is part-time and project-based, with bookings dependent on the needs of production. Flexibility and promptness are key to maximizing your opportunities.
Background Work & Payment Info
Regular background work for Non-Union and AABP is $17.20 per hour with an 8-hour minimum. You are paid by production, not by ML Talent.
ACTRA rates apply for background work.
Commercials tend to take longer for payment to arrive— production has up to 120 days to pay ( this varies). We typically invoice on your behalf, and when payment comes in, we send you an e-transfer.

🔑 First Rule: Your Photos Matter More Than Anything
Your photos are how casting directors decide who to book. If they can’t clearly see you — they won’t pick you.
Here’s what we need from you:
✅ DO:
- Upload unfiltered, clear photos that show your face and body.
- Use natural lighting (stand near a window or go outside).
- Make sure photos are not blurry and your face is fully visible.
- Include:
  - Headshot (face only)
  - Shoulders-up shot
  - Waist-up shot
  - Full body photo
- Keep your background clean and simple (plain wall is perfect).
- Take multiple shots — even a friend with a smartphone can help.
- ❌ DON’T:
  - Use sunglasses, hats, props, or filters. ( if you want to show a range that is fine but ensure you have all of the basic photos inside your profile already.
  - Submit photos that are too far away, dark, blurry, or with other people or pets ( unless requested.)
  - Upload photos that don’t look like you anymore (e.g., old hairstyle, different weight, major appearance change).

Your photos should look like how you’ll appear on set — clean, professional, and real.
