How to Receive Payment and Pay Commissions
AABP and Non-Union Talent
Address for Payment Forms: Your home address should be used instead of the agency's address for cheque delivery.
Commission Due Upon Receipt: Any payment received from agency-related work incurs a commission owed, payable upon receipt.
Important Note: Email all commission paperwork to admin@mltalent.com on the same day you receive your cheque to prevent delays in future bookings.
Upon Receiving Payment at Home
Immediate Action Needed: Once you receive your cheque at home, follow these steps promptly:
Take a photo of all paperwork you receive with a smartphone or scanner. This would include a copy of the cheque stub, and the voucher you fill out on set / RABS.
Email ALL received items to admin@mltalent.com. Include clear copies of vouchers indicating gross payment amounts. Do not deposit the cheque until after sending the copies.
Subject Line and Process: Use "SEND ME AN INVOICE" in the subject line when emailing your paperwork. Wait for an invoice from us before making payment.
Invoice and Payment Process
Upon Receipt of Invoice: Click on 'view invoice' and use the top right corner to make your payment securely with a credit card or Visa Debit.
Benefit of Credit Card Payment: No fees incurred, potential points collection, instant payment linkage to your invoice, and a receipt for tax purposes.
Commission Payment Details
Commission Rates and HST: All commissions subject to HST.
Timely Payment: Commissions are due upon receipt of payment. A late fee of 15% applies if payment isn't made within 2 days of receiving the payment.
Commission Rates:
Full ACTRA:
Regular Background Performance: 10%
Commercials and Upgrades: 15%
Print or Promotional Work: 20%
Apprentice / Yellow Vouchers:
All Jobs: 15% (Print or Promotional Work: 20%)
Non-Union / AABP:
Regular Background Performance: 10%
Yellow Voucher Work at Actra Apprentice Rate: 15%
Commercials, Upgrades, Promotional Work, Music Videos, or Specialty Work: 20%
Print: 20%
Additional Payments:
Commission applies to all additional earnings related to the job, including fittings, props (e.g., dog, bike), wardrobe allowances, and mileage (if paid). Be sure to clearly note any such items on your payment slip to ensure proper processing and commission calculation.
Email transfer Fees
For payments issued via email transfer, a processing fee of $5 plus tax will be applied
Direct Payments: For certain jobs where production pays us directly, a $2 fee will be deducted from your payment.
Cancellation Fees
Standard and Commercial Cancellations: If a cancellation occurs, whether due to you cancelling or being sent home from set without pay, you are still obligated to pay the fees. Standard cancellations incur a fee of $20 plus HST. Commercial cancellations will result in the full commission amount being charged.
