HOW TO RECEIVE PAYMENT & PAY AGENCY FEES
WHAT IS AN AGENCY FEE?
When ML Talent Agency books you for a production, you are paid for your work by the production company.
Because ML Talent Agency found the job, submitted you, communicated with production, and handled the booking process, an agency fee (also called commission) is owed to ML Talent Agency from the money you earn.
An agency fee is a percentage of the payment you receive from any job booked through ML Talent Agency.
Agency fees apply to all payments received in connection with an agency booking, including but not limited to wages, overtime, fittings, wardrobe, travel, late fees, upgrades, additional usage or buyouts, vehicle fees, prop fees, pet fees, and any other additional or supplementary payments related to the booking.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
When completing production paperwork:
Use your own home address — NOT ML Talent Agency’s address — for cheque delivery and payment forms.
Payments are normally issued directly to the performer by production.

WHAT YOU MUST DO WHEN YOU RECEIVE PAYMENT
When you receive payment from production, whether by cheque, e-transfer or any other form of payment, you must send all required paperwork to ML Talent Agency the same day.
Do not send your agency fee payment at this time. ML Talent Agency will review your paperwork and send you an invoice confirming the exact amount owing. Payment is due once you receive your invoice.
Failure to submit all required paperwork and pay your agency fee invoice promptly may result in your profile being made inactive. You will not be contacted for further work until all outstanding paperwork and payments have been received.
The same day you receive payment, you must:
1. SEND YOUR PAPERWORK THE SAME DAY
Take clear photos or scans of:
✅ Cheque stub
✅ All vouchers (white, green, yellow, RABS)
✅ Any additional payment documents
Email all paperwork to:

2. WAIT FOR YOUR AGENCY FEE INVOICE
Once we receive your paperwork, ML Talent Agency will review it and send you an electronic invoice confirming the exact agency fee owing.
DO NOT send your agency fee payment before receiving your invoice.
3. PAY YOUR INVOICE
Once you receive your invoice, click “View Invoice” and pay the amount shown.
You can pay securely online using:
• Credit Card
• Visa Debit
Or, if you prefer to pay by e-transfer, send payment to:
Your agency fee is due immediately upon receipt of your invoice.
Failure to submit your paperwork or pay your agency fee invoice promptly may result in your profile being made inactive. You will not be contacted for further work until all outstanding paperwork and payments have been received.
Once your payment has been received, your account will be updated accordingly.

Agency fees apply to all work booked through ML Talent Agency. All agency fees are subject to HST.

Commercials & Upgrades — 15%
Print & Promotional Work — 20%
ACTRA APPRENTICE / YELLOW / GREEN VOUCHER
All Jobs — 15%
Print & Promotional Work — 20%
NON-UNION / AABP TALENT
Background Work — 10%
Green / Yellow Voucher Work at ACTRA Apprentice Rate — 15%
Commercials, Upgrades, Promotional Work, Music Videos & Specialty Work — 20%

LATE PAYMENT POLICY
Agency fees are due immediately upon receiving payment.
If payment is not received within 2 days, a 15% late fee will apply.

PAYMENTS SENT TO ML TALENT AGENCY
Production payments should be sent directly to you.
If your payment or cheque is sent to ML Talent Agency instead, the agency will process the payment and send the funds to you by e-transfer.
A $5 + HST processing fee will be charged for each payment we process and send to you.

CANCELLATION FEES
Once you accept a confirmed booking, you are expected to honour that commitment.
A cancellation fee applies if you:
• Cancel a confirmed booking for any reason
• Fail to attend your confirmed booking
• Arrive on set but are sent home without pay because you did not meet the requirements of the booking
STANDARD FILM & TELEVISION BACKGROUND CANCELLATION
• Cancellation fee: $22.60 (including HST)
• Payment must be sent by e-transfer to admin@mltalent.com
• Your profile may be made inactive until the cancellation fee has been paid
COMMERCIAL CANCELLATIONS
• Commercial cancellations are subject to a different fee
• The cancellation fee is equal to the full agency fee that would have been earned on the confirmed booking
• The standard $22.60 background cancellation fee does not apply to commercial bookings

UNCLAIMED PAYMENTS
Talent are responsible for keeping their contact and payment information current and for promptly following up on any missing or outstanding payments.
If you have not received an expected payment, please contact ML Talent Agency as soon as possible. Production offices may close after a show wraps, and delays in reporting a missing payment may limit our ability to assist you.
If ML Talent Agency contacts you regarding an unclaimed payment, please respond promptly. Payments cannot be held or traced indefinitely.
Your responsibility to report a missing payment does not cancel any agency fees or commissions that may be owing under your agreement with ML Talent Agency.

By registering with Melissa Lee Talent Agency Inc. / ML Talent Agency, you acknowledge that you are responsible for reviewing and understanding the agency's applicable terms, policies, procedures and requirements provided on this website.
These include, where applicable, registration requirements, booking procedures, agency fees and commissions, payment requirements, cancellation policies, profile requirements and rules relating to accepting and completing bookings.
It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the information provided on this website and to contact ML Talent Agency if you have questions or require clarification.
By registering with the agency and accepting work through ML Talent Agency, you agree to comply with all applicable agency terms, policies and procedures.
Agency policies and procedures may be updated from time to time. Talent are responsible for reviewing the current information available on the ML Talent Agency website.
