📌 IMPORTANT — MISSING CHEQUE / PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED
If you believe you are missing a cheque for work completed, you have two options to get this resolved quickly:
Production offices do not stay open forever — once a show wraps, they cannot issue payments.
Following up quickly is essential.
✔ Option 1 — Email ML Talent
Contact admin@mltalent.com immediately with the info we need below.
✔ Option 2 — Reach out to production directly and CC us
This is often faster, as production can verify your details right away.
1️⃣ What You Must Email Us (Required for All Missing Cheques)
Please email admin@mltalent.com and cc production if you can with:
Your full legal first and last name
The date(s) you worked
A clear photo or scan of your voucher (or RABS slip)
Your current full mailing address, including city & postal code
Your SIN (Social Insurance Number)
Any working papers, if applicable
We must have this information before we can follow up with production.
Missing details will delay your payment.
2️⃣ Contacting Production Directly (Usually Faster)
You are encouraged to contact production as well — this often speeds things up.
You can:
Visit ACTRA Toronto’s What’s Shooting page https://actratoronto.com/whats-shooting/ for production contact emails and phone numbers and reach out to them directly asking about your missing payment. When you call state that you are a background performer and are looking for your cheque.

Ask for the production office email and phone number for your show and then reach out to production if these details are not already on the whats shooting website.
3️⃣ Understanding Timeline — Cheques Do NOT Take Months
Cheques typically arrive within 14 business days
(weekends and holidays not included).
If more than 14 business days have passed, there is likely an issue —
you must follow up right away with both us and production.
4️⃣ Commission Reminder System
Our system automatically sends commission reminders after your job:
1st Reminder: 21 days after your work date
2nd Reminder: ~1 week later
Final Reminder: ~1 week after that
(Your profile may be deactivated at this stage.)
These reminders exist so you have plenty of time to let us know if a cheque is missing.
If we do not hear back from you, you will still be responsible for the commission owed.
We are proud to secure work for you, and commission is due for that work even if production has delayed payment.
