HOW OUR BOOKING PROCESS WORKS
Once you are registered in our database, you may receive booking opportunities that match your appearance, age, experience and production requirements.
Almost all communication with ML Talent Agency is handled electronically, including booking opportunities, availability requests, confirmations and job information. It is important to monitor your email regularly and respond promptly, as many booking opportunities are time-sensitive.
REGISTRATION FEE
Non-Union/AABP Talent 18+: $100 + HST ($113) annually
ACTRA Full & Apprentice Members: FREE
Talent Under 18: FREE
Registration fees are non-refundable and renewed annually.
Registration does not guarantee work. All opportunities are based on production requirements.
Health & Safety Training: Background performers are required to complete the Ontario Worker Health and Safety Awareness training before working on set, as required by production. Complete the FREE training here.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY
To work with ML Talent Agency:
✓ You must have your own valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
✓ You must be legally allowed to work in Canada
✓ You must have all required work documents
✓ Children must have their own SIN — a parent’s SIN cannot be used
✓ A parent’s work or study permit cannot be used for their child
✓ Children age 15 and under must have a chaperone age 21 or older on set

1. RECEIVE A WORK INVITATION
When a job matches your profile, you will receive an email invitation from ML Talent Agency.
Please read the email carefully and follow all instructions provided.
Important: Many booking emails are sent from a “do not reply” email address. You cannot reply directly to these emails. To respond to the opportunity, click the appropriate button inside the email. See below for the example
IMPORTANT: Add do-not-reply@mltalent.com to your email contacts or safe-sender list to help prevent booking invitations from going to your junk or spam folder.

2. RESPOND QUICKLY
Film and television bookings are often time-sensitive and are generally filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Responding quickly improves your chances of being considered.
Please note:
Marking yourself available does not guarantee a booking.
You are only officially booked once you receive a confirmation email from ML Talent Agency.

3. CASTING SELECTION
Some roles are booked directly by ML Talent Agency.
Other roles require casting, directors, or production teams to review submissions and make the final selection.
If you are not selected immediately, it may simply mean the production is reviewing multiple options.

4. BOOKING CONFIRMATION
If you are selected for the job, you will receive a booking confirmation email from ML Talent Agency confirming that you are officially booked. Until you receive this confirmation, you are not booked or committed to the job.
Please be patient while waiting for a response. Booking decisions are not always made immediately and timing varies by production. Some bookings may be confirmed quickly, while commercials and other projects may take several days or even a week or more, depending on how far in advance casting is taking place.

5. CALL TIMES & JOB DETAILS
Call times are usually sent the evening before your shoot, typically between 9:00 PM and midnight.

6. CONFIRM YOUR CALL TIME
Once you receive your call time email, please read all instructions carefully and click the green confirmation button at the bottom of the email.
A confirmation is required for every booking. Do not assume we know you received your call time. Failure to confirm may result in the loss of your booking.

7. ARRIVE ON SET
After confirming your details, arrive at the location provided in your call time email at the scheduled time.
Arrive on time, fully prepared and ready to work. Unless otherwise instructed, bring at least two complete head-to-toe wardrobe changes appropriate for the role. Hair and makeup should be camera-ready upon arrival, where applicable.
Always review your call time email carefully, as production may provide specific wardrobe, hair, makeup or other instructions for your booking.

Background work is part-time and project-based.
Bookings depend on production needs and are never guaranteed.
